TEAM

The success of a venture fund of funds is dependent on its access to slots in top-tier venture funds. The Swan Partners have unique, but complementary, relationships with the venture community. Jon has been a practicing Obstetrician/Gynecologist in Palo Alto for over twenty-five years and has delivered the children of numerous Venture Capitalists. Stephanie Vinella and Mark Klopp are more traditionally connected to the venture community. Stephanie, a Stanford MBA, has been CFO of three venture-backed Silicon Valley firms. Mark has been Managing Director of Eastman Ventures, a Board Member of the National Venture Capital Association, and Chairman of the Advisory Board to their Corporate Venture Group.

Jon, Stephanie, and Mark, all of whom will share in the General Partner’s carried interest, are responsible for identifying and gaining access to top-tier venture capital funds. Jon, as the Managing Member of the General Partner, is also responsible for managing the daily operations of Swan Ventures.

An unusual, but valuable aspect of the Partnership is that none of the Partners devotes all of his or her time to Swan Ventures. Each has outside business activities that are valued by venture firms. Venture capitalists want value-added limited partners -- LPs who can either act as consultants or bring deals to them. The Swan Partners have, and will continue to serve as resources for the venture capitalists.
